Preventing Human Trafficking to Brothels of India from Nepal

We will be describing the plight of undereducated, impoverished, low status girls and women from a mountainous village in Nepal, and the human trafficking survivor who courageously returned to her village to found a school and "stand in the way" of the practices in that village (trafficking of young girls and child marriage). We will be describing the way Rotary clubs can support anti-trafficking work, which can be especially effective if survivors have received a good education and gone from being victims to becoming human rights advocates. The work is very much in line with RI President Shekhar Mehta's focus on the Empowerment of Girls and Women.
