Every person who grows up in an economy where a reasonable opportunity to earn a living through work is lacking, is a potential target to be trafficked. Therefore, if we are serious about preventing human trafficking, focusing on job creation has to be a primary mission. RCEHT’s ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (EDI) is one of the club’s most ambitious programs seeking to address just this.

 

However, ‘saying’ one wants to promote job development, and ‘actually’ promoting job development are two different things. It has taken quite some time for EDI to find get traction and start developing meaningful results. However, action is taking place, results are starting slowly but surely, and the pathway to grow is being illuminated.

 

EDI Director, Michael Podolny, will be presenting a complete update on the program’s status, where it is headed, and what club members can do to support the effort.
